SPX Corporation Named to FORTUNE's America's Most Admired Companies 2008

CHARLOTTE, NC - March 4, 2008 - SPX Corporation (NYSE: SPW) today announced that it has been named to FORTUNE magazine's America's Most Admired Companies 2008, the widely respected and influential annual scorecard rankings recognizing corporate excellence.

SPX was ranked #5 in the Electronics industry category, behind General Electric, Emerson, Sony and Siemens (in that order) with an overall score of 6.33. The rankings appear in the March 17 issue of FORTUNE, which will be on newsstands March 10, and are currently available online at www.fortune.com.
