      CHARLOTTE, NC - March 24, 2005 - SPX Corporation (NYSE:SPW) announced
today that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25
per common share payable on April 22, 2005, to shareholders of record on
April 8, 2005.
