SPX to Participate at Citigroup's Global Climate Consequences Conference

CHARLOTTE, NC - September 23, 2008 - SPX Corporation (NYSE: SPW) today announced that Gene Lowe, Vice President, Global Business Development and Marketing for SPX Thermal Equipment and Services, will participate in a panel session at Citigroup's Global Climate Consequences Conference on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in New York. The panel, named "Traditional Supply," will focus on the response of traditional utilities with coal, gas and nuclear assets and the equipment suppliers to those markets, and is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 a.m. Eastern time.
